Dungeons
The legions of monsters under Vlad's control have been sealed behind a number of barriers.
These magical seals keep the beasts from pouring out over the streets of the peaceful city, but if you're going to stop them, you're going to have to cross through these barriers and enter Curtis Castle.
Your team of specialists is an untested element in the coming conflict, and the leadership of the Golden Seal team expects you to prove your ability and your loyalty before they bring you on board. Your adventures begin scouting the least dangerous areas sealed behind the barriers, but as you make a name for yourself, the people of Bramunez will come to respect you and you'll be entrusted with missions in the higher-risk areas.
A pretty name for a dirty locale, your first missions take place in the network of canals deep beneath the castle. These were sealed behind a barrier for safety's sake as the Golden Seal hadn't received reports of enemy activity in these dank and unused tunnels, but the first scouts sent into the depths met with violent resistance. Now it's your mission to clear the way for the reconnaissance teams and to protect the water treatment plant, a piece of ancient technology that the city depends on. It's not clear why Vlad has sent such powerful minions to seize this plant, but the Golden Seal team isn't going to stand idly by to find out.
The first foray into Curtis Castle proper takes the specialists into the lower levels. This mismatch of wine cellars, dining quarters, a library and a maze of corridors known only as the Labyrinth gives the team an idea of just how big Curtis Castle is. Try not to get lost as the citizens you meet in town send you into the castle again and again for their own, often selfish, reasons. Vlad's influence can be seen in the new and disturbing creatures encountered in these halls, although it turns out not all of them want our heroes dead. Some monsters just want to start a business and settle down. Who knew? Whether or not these entrepreneurial beasts can be trusted isn't entirely clear, but at this point the specialists will take whatever help is offered.
